TLAstudio.com“Straw-green still, at eleven years old. Less minerally, more peachy-tropical than the 2001. Off-dry, with gorgeous compensating acidity. Steely Rheingau-like body. The kind of nuanced, delightful-drinking experience that only the Germans can coax out of Riesling. Terrific with any food that has a touch of sweetness (Waldorf salad, baked ham with pineapple, a Thai coconut-milk curry, etc.)

“Weingut Toni Jost (Mittelrhein)
There are those who call Toni Jost one of Germany’s very greatest wineries. Their region, the Mittelrhein, is not as well known as some others…but, as I discovered in February 2013, the Mittelrhein surrounds the much more famous Rheingau. And, in its best spots, the Mittelrhein wines can compete with anything from the Rheingau! Toni Jost wines were in the U.S. until 2008; it now falls to me (happily!) to reintroduce them!”
